Since 1978, CompBenefits has consistently and systematically grown its operations to meet customer needs, expectations and market potential. We have established an expertise in developing and managing networks and provider practice management to enhance our administration of benefit plans. CompBenefits also includes an insurance company subsidiary, CompBenefits Insurance Company, to provide its comprehensive scope of product offerings.

CompBenefits has recognized the importance of dental in employee benefit plans and focused its growth accordingly.

Since operations began in Florida in 1978, CompBenefits has expanded throughout the United States. CompBenefits grew into the states of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio. In 1994, the company broadened its presence into Texas through the purchase of DentiCare, Inc. and UniLife. Nineteen ninety-five saw further growth and expansion into Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri and West Virginia through the purchase of CompBenefits Corporation. Texas Dental Plans, National Dental Plans and Dental Plans International were acquired in 1996, as was Dental Care Plus, one of the largest dental care administrators in Illinois. The acquisition of American Dental Providers and Diamond Dental was concluded in March 1997, giving us a presence in Arkansas.

In 2000, CompBenefits acquired OHS, Inc., the parent company of Oral Health Services and Vision Care Inc (VCI). This acquistion increased the size of the company by over 50% and expanded our product offerings into vision benefits.
